About Maureen O’Toole

Welcome! I’m Maureen O’Toole, and I’m so glad you’re here.

When I was a little girl, I sat wide-eyed as my great-aunts, aunts, and uncles shared enchanting stories of Ireland—the land they loved and left behind. Those tales painted vivid pictures in my mind and planted a dream in my heart: to one day return to those storied landscapes, to write, and to paint the beauty of the Ireland they missed so dearly.

Fast forward 60+ years, and life has come full circle. After a long and rewarding career in a field far removed from art, storytelling, or magic, I’ve finally embraced this chapter of creativity. Now is my time to weave the stories I’ve carried with me and to paint the pictures inspired by their words.

When I’m not immersed in writing or painting, you’ll find me baking in my kitchen, tending to my garden, or spending time with my spirited little dog, Biggie. I’m also lucky to have the encouragement of my husband, who’s retired too and one of my biggest fans—always cheering me on in both my art and writing.

I’m thrilled to announce that my debut novel, Threads of Passage, will be released in late December/early January. It’s a story of community, resilience, and transformation—a perfect winter read to warm your heart. I hope you’ll join me on this journey and consider adding it to your reading list.
